Registered Manager – Care Home – Older People / Dementia

Just a stone’s throw from the idyllic beaches of Ilfracombe, this care home for older people / people with dementia offers a true "home away from home" experience. It’s a smaller, more personal setting where residents feel like part of a family. The home has built a fantastic reputation within the local community over many years and is rated Good with CQC.

On offer is salary of circa £37,000 - £40,000, though this may be negotiable, 20+8 days annual leave and pension scheme. You’ll be supported by a competent Deputy and Administrator in the day to day running of home.

The Registered Manager role

  • Overall you are responsible for the day to day running for the home, ensuring that standards of care are high and meet CQC standards.
  • You’ll manage the home budget but wider financial management including P+L management and fee negotiations with Local Authority are overseen by the director.
  • Staff leadership and management of care staff, cook, maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Undertake regular audits to monitor provision
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and local commissioners

About You

  • It’s essential that you have experience in a management role within a CQC regulated setting – such as Registered Manager / Care Home Manager / Deputy Manager.
  • You’ll be an effective leader of people who can work autonomously.
  • Ideally you’ll have experience of working with people with dementia / older people.
