W Talent are now working with Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling Ltd who are looking to recruit a highly skilled, Maintenance Electrician to join the Engineering Team, working on a Monday to Friday, night shift basis located at the Crompton Rd, Ilkeston site DE7 4BG.

About the Site

The site operates a market-leading incinerator bottom ash (IBA) treatment plant, processing up to 350,000 tpa of IBA located in Ilkeston. Night shifts focus on cleaning, maintenance, and supporting daily operations. Health and safety are of the highest importance, and all employees are expected to maintain strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Job Details

The role involves carrying out plant upgrades and improvements during shutdown hours, as well as performing regular planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and cleaning schedules. You will also support breakdowns, replace parts as required, and provide electrical support to ensure the plant is ready for start-up each morning.

This is a fast-paced environment requiring a hands-on, flexible approach. Although primarily an electrical role, there will be opportunities to assist with mechanical work during breakdowns or process improvements, so a basic understanding of mechanical systems is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently in a fast-moving environment under tight deadlines.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with mechanical aspects of plant operations as required.
  • Support plant upgrades, shutdowns, and process improvements.
  • Any other reasonable duties aligned with company objectives.

Core Competencies and Skills:

  • Qualified or experienced in electrical maintenance and located near Ilkeston.
  • Experience with Siemens and ABB Inverters, Siemens PLCs, 24V DC control circuits, emergency stop circuits, and 415V motors.
  • Confident in fault finding and reading electrical drawings and main plant control panels.
  • Apprentice trained; inspection and testing 2391, 18th edition wiring regulations preferred but not essential; 17th edition wiring regulations required.
