W Talent are now working with Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling Ltd who are looking to recruit a highly skilled, Electrical bias, Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering Team, working on a Monday to Friday, Mornings and Afters rotating basis located at the Crompton Rd, Ilkeston site DE7 4BG.

About the Site

The site operates a market-leading incinerator bottom ash (IBA) treatment plant, processing up to 350,000 tpa of IBA located in Ilkeston. Health and safety are of the highest importance, and all employees are expected to maintain strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Job Details

The role involves carrying out any plant upgrades and improvements during shut down hours as well as regular PPM's and cleaning schedules. You will also be involved with breakdowns and replacement of parts as required and be available for the plant start up in the morning by offering electrical support.

This is a fast-paced environment requiring a hands-on, flexible approach. Although primarily an electrical role, there will be opportunities to assist with mechanical work during breakdowns or process improvements, so a basic understanding of mechanical systems is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently in a fast-moving environment under tight deadlines.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with mechanical aspects of plant operations as required.
  • Support plant upgrades, shutdowns, and process improvements.
  • Any other reasonable duties aligned with company objectives.

Core Competencies and Skills:

  • Qualified or experienced in electrical or mechanical maintenance and located near Ilkeston.
  • Confident in fault finding and reading electrical drawings and main plant control panels.
  • Apprentice trained in Electrical preference.
