Excellent opportunity to join an established special purpose machinery manufacturer in the Ilkley area. The role will be based on the shop floor, producing a range of standard and bespoke machinery. This is a permanent role from day one and would be ideal for an apprentice trained Mechanical Fitter who has come from a background in bespoke machinery/ equipment build & maintenance.

The role of Skilled Mechanical Fitter includes:

Building special purpose machinery to customer specifications
Assembling general & pneumatic pipe work
Accurately selecting parts required for assembly operation & ensuring parts picked are in good condition
Working to ISO standards
Accurate manufacture and assembly of products, ranging from building machine sections to small components
Working from technical drawings
The use of hand tools & machinery including hand drills, mag drills, grinders, air tools, stud guns, lifting tools & overhead cranes

The Skilled Mechanical Fitter will be:

Level 3 apprentice trained in Mechanical engineering or fitting
Experienced & confident in Mechanical build and working to tolerances
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
Used to working with various engineering equipment
Experienced in Pneumatics and pipe fitting
Professional, with a strong understanding of quality & health & safety procedures
Ideally experienced in basic MIG welding
Able to meet deadlines & work to production schedules
Comfortable working at height & in confined spaces

You would work a fixed late shift.

Late shift 2:15pm-12.30am M-W

2:15pm-12am Thur

19.11 (DOE) inclusive of 25% shift allowance

25 days holiday plus BH's (close over Xmas)

4% pension, rising to 6% employer after 12 months

Death in service x 3 if in the pension or capped at 10k
