About the Role:

Elevation Recruitment Group is excited to partner with a large manufacturing business based in Ilkley, who are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This is a permanent position offering an excellent hourly rate, as well as opportunities for ongoing training and career development.Working hours: Early shift (Monday - Friday 6am- 2.15pm) / Late shift (Monday - Wednesday 2.15pm - 12.30am, Thursday 2.15pm- 12am, Friday's off)Hourly Rate: £15.29 + shift allowance 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To determine the parts required for the assembly operation
  • To perform general inspection of the parts picked, to ensure they are the correct to the bill of materials
  • and in good condition
  • To assembly the items required following the instructions on the engineering drawing, ranging from
  • building machine sections to small components.
  • To assembly pipe work, this includes pneumatic pipework and general pipework.
  • To safely use hand tools as required for the assembly e.g., hand drill, mag-drill, grinder, air tools, stud gun
  • To quality check completed assembly to ensure dimensional tolerances are satisfied.
  • To ensure work performed meets the production timescales.
  • To safely move parts, using the appropriate lifting tools and operating the overhead crane.
  • To adhere to the company safe systems of work and appropriate standard operating processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Level 3, Level 3 NVQ Mechanical Engineering Fitting and Assembly or
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a fitter (including apprenticeship).
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use hand tools (such as hand drill, mag-drill, grinder, air tools, stud gun).
  • Experience moving and turning large assemblies.
  • Understanding of H&S policy, procedures and working safely.
  • Understanding of quality.
  • Understanding of building assemblies and working to tolerances.
  • Exposure to working with job cards.
  • Exposure to basic MIG welding (desirable).
  • Experience working in confined spaces
