About the Role:We are seeking a part-time Psychology Tutor to work with A-Level students at a high-achieving secondary school in the Ilkley/Leeds area, starting ASAP. This role would suit an experienced A-Level Psychology teacher or an academic specialist with a strong grasp of the AQA specification. Sessions may include class-based support, small group tuition, and one-to-one mentoring.
The Setting:This is a high-performing and well-respected secondary school with a thriving Sixth Form, nestled between Leeds and Ilkley. The school places great emphasis on values, inclusion, and high academic standards. Students are respectful, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, making it a fulfilling environment for any tutor who values impact and purpose in their role.
Essential Requirements:- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is desirable
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to make content accessible and engaging

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality A-Level Psychology sessions aligned with the AQA specification
- Support students in developing knowledge of psychological approaches, research methods, and key studies
- Prepare engaging and differentiated resources
- Identify learning gaps and plan appropriate interventions
- Encourage students to analyse data and evaluate studies critically
- Monitor and report on student progress
- Support students in developing exam techniques
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Help students explore ethical issues and apply theories to real-life contexts
- Motivate students to reach their full academic potential
