About the Role:
As a Transport Compliance Specialist, you’ll serve as the subject matter expert for:

Fleet safety
-
Transport legislation (including Operator Licence)

Workshop systems
-
Dangerous Goods (ADR & CDG) compliance
You will be responsible for auditing transport and workshop sites across the North and Scotland (part of a wider national team), supporting operational teams, and ensuring full legal compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
This role includes both strategic guidance and hands-on compliance auditing, with a key focus on coaching, mentoring, and improving performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct structured compliance audits across multiple sites

Advise on Operator Licence compliance, workshop standards, and ADR/CDG regulations

Provide clear, practical guidance to Transport Managers, Workshop Supervisors, and other stakeholders

Monitor and report on KPIs, non-compliance trends, and areas for improvement

Lead investigations into process failures and contribute to continuous improvement projects

Represent Calor during regulatory audits, including Department for Transport inspections

Compile detailed compliance reports and legally required documentation
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Transport Management CPC Qualification
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and Operator Licensing

Experience in dangerous goods management (ADR/CDG)
- Background in auditing transport and/or workshop operations

Confident communicator with strong report writing and analytical skills

Self-starter with excellent time management

Full UK driving licence
Desirable:

Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) qualification

Auditing or HSE qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, etc.)

Membership of professional bodies (CILT, IRTE, IMI, etc.)
