Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Manager role
Reporting to the Energy Plant Manager, you will:
Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, ensuring safe and effective delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance work.
Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules aligned with operational goals to optimise equipment uptime.
Respond quickly and efficiently to unplanned maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
Promote and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure technical, safety and contractual standards are consistently met.
Take ownership of the annual plant shutdown, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget.
Control engineering budgets and ensure spending is justified, tracked and optimised.
Oversee stores and inventory in collaboration with the stores function to support maintenance continuity.
Drive performance reporting, training, and continuous improvement across the department.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Level 3 SVQ in Engineering or a related field.
Proven supervisory or management experience in a heavy industrial or production environment.
Strong background in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, ideally in a manufacturing or utilities context.
Experience with preventative maintenance systems and reactive fault resolution.
