Assistant Biomass Maintenance Technician

Tec-Source are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Field Based Assistant Biomass Maintenance Technician to join their team in the Scottish Highlands. This is a permanent opportunity with excellent training, development and long-term career prospects.

This role will involve assisting with the daily operational requirements of a busy maintenance team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and supporting engineers across multiple sites. Full product-specific training will be provided, and for the right candidate there is a clear pathway to progress into a fully qualified Biomass Service Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Visually inspect heating plant on a bi-monthly basis while carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks.

Assist engineers with biannual maintenance tasks such as boiler servicing and fuel store cleaning.

Ensure fuel stores and energy centres are kept clean, tidy, and free from dust or pellet spillages.

Record all site visits on an electronic workflow management system (via tablet device).

Attend sites across the Highlands to carry out the removal of ash on biomass boilers (full training provided).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Criteria:

Clean driving licence.

Previous experience in a relevant role.

Willingness to learn.

Ability to work alone for long periods.

Logical and sensible approach to daily tasks.

Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:

Flexible and practical approach to work.

Ability to cope with the reactive nature of the role.

Previous experience within the Commercial M&E trade.

Practical, hands-on approach to daily tasks.
