Your new company & role:

An established Building & Civil Engineering contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business who can offer real career progression opportunities and have a demonstrable track record of promoting from within.

Working with the established team of experienced Quantity Surveyors, the successful candidate could be expected to fulfil the following duties:

  • Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements maximising profit
  • Attending, contributing to, and minuting Internal Team Meetings
  • Keeping master files of correspondence on contract
  • Preparing Interim Valuations with Senior Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment.
  • Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations
  • Valuing variations
  • Pricing
  • Reporting to Senior Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons
  • Preparing Surveying Reports


The successful candidate will possess:

  • BSc Quantity Surveying, or equivalent (or working towards achieving)
  • Relevant industry experience (ideally)
  • Good analytical & problem-solving skills
  • A methodical approach
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in relevant computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
