Job Title: Installation Engineer - Hydraulics & Electrical Systems
Location: Ipswich (UK & US travel required)
Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 per annum
TEC Partners are working with a leading engineering business based in Ipswich, seeking an experienced Installation Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting and hands-on role, ideal for someone with a strong background in hydraulic and electrical installations who enjoys extensive travel and working on complex mechanical systems.
As an Installation Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation of hydraulic platform systems at customer sites across the UK and the US. The role involves extended overseas projects, typically lasting up to three months at a time, so flexibility and a passion for travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and service hydraulic lifting platforms and systems at customer sites in the UK and abroad.
- Carry out electrical wiring, testing, and fault-finding on control panels and components.
- Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all installations meet required safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Support commissioning activities and troubleshoot system performance issues.
- Liaise closely with internal and external project and engineering teams to ensure installations are completed efficiently and accurately.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in hydraulic and electrical installations, ideally involving lifting or platform systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and control systems.
- Competent in electrical assembly, wiring, and diagnostics.
- Ability to read and work from engineering and wiring diagrams.
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and internationally (especially the US) for periods of up to 3 months.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when working with clients.
- Experience within heavy engineering, lifting systems, or industrial machinery environments highly advantageous.
Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
