Job Description:
LRL are currently recruiting for experienced Wiremen to work on a substation project in Ipswich, starting Monday 4th August 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure programme within the power and utilities sector.
Candidates must hold a valid National Grid Person (NGP), as this work will be carried out within a live substation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Wiring, cable containment, terminations, and glanding within HV substations
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and layout drawings
Completing control panel and junction box installations
Maintaining strict adherence to National Grid safety procedures
Working alongside supervisors and site teams to deliver work on time and to standard
Requirements:
National Grid Person (NGP)
Demonstrable experience as a Wireman in high-voltage / substation environments
Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings
Valid safety passport
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow site protocols
Two recent references from similar roles
