Security Systems Engineer

Join a leading company as a Security Systems Engineer, where you will be instrumental in servicing and maintaining critical security systems. This role is ideal for someone who is technically skilled and committed to ensuring the safety and functionality of security installations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Servicing and Maintenance: Perform regular servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis on CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems. Repair or replace faulty components to restore functionality and ensure all systems meet relevant standards and regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Provide emergency fault response as part of an on-call rota, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, especially when working alone, and successfully complete Society-provided health and safety training.
  • Technical Execution: Read and interpret electrical and building plans, use various tools and equipment for installation and maintenance, and apply electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and install systems effectively.
  • Responsiveness: Respond to out-of-hours service calls and emergencies as required, and be willing to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and overnight stays.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in servicing and maintaining security systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and building plans.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • ECS/CSCS certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • Awareness of new security technologies and a proven installation track record.
  • Physical capability to perform onsite work in various environments.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for servicing and repairs.
