Head of FinanceIpswichFlexible hybrid working: 1 day a week onsite

Reed Finance are looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join a public sector organisation in Ipswich. We are seeking a passionate and confident Head of Finance to bring financial expertise and leadership.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the finance team to develop robust and compliant financial processes.
  • Support managers across the organisation to effectively manage their budgets.
  • Production of the annual Statement of Accounts and manage relationships with internal and external audit.
  • Monthly management accounts and analysis.
  • Budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, management accounting, treasury management and credit control.
  • Drive the delivery of a financial transformation programme aimed at improving efficiency, procurement, finance processes, protocols, and financial systems, including overseeing the implementation of a new financial system.
  • Play a key role in financial preparations for local government reorganisation.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountancy professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in a complex, multi-faceted financial leadership role within a similar organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse finance team.
  • Proven ability to oversee financial systems implementations and enhancements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
