Tax Accountant (Industry)Ipswich, hybrid£45,000 - £55,000

Reed Finance Ipswich are excited to partner with a leading organisation in Ipswich to recruit a permanent Tax Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage a variety of tax-related matters, both direct and indirect, within a dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Tax Manager will contribute significantly to the operations and strategic tax planning of the organisation.

This role could offer a great route to industry, for a qualified Tax Accountant currently working in practice. Equally, tax managers and tax specialists currently in industry are also greatly encouraged to apply.

Although the role is varied, you do not need to be a master of all taxes. You might be a specialist in corporation tax, VAT or land tax and have the willingness and capability to pick the others up quickly.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all corporation tax and VAT matters.
  • Take ownership of the quarterly VAT returns preparation and associated workings.
  • Prepare corporation tax returns, including capital allowances and R&D claims.
  • Calculate financial accounting provisions for current and deferred tax, and forecast CT payments on account.
  • Advise on the tax implications of property transactions.
  • Engage in tax planning and risk management, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s tax strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability and technical proficiency in tax matters.
  • Customer-focused approach with leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and data interpretation abilities.
  • Project management experience and critical thinking skills.
