I am working with an award-winning international logistics provider who are seeking a new Customs Clearance Coordinator, located in their Ipswich office.

Salary - up to £28,000 DOE

Key duties & Responsibilities:

As a Customs Clearance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role within our Customs department, ensuring all documentation and procedures are handled efficiently and compliantly. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations via CDS and CHIEF
  • Signing customs documentation under Power of Attorney on behalf of clients
  • Extracting and managing data from commercial invoices and packing lists
  • Liaising with clients and internal departments to obtain and validate clearance information
  • Classifying goods and applying relevant customs codes and licences
  • Managing import/export documentation such as T-documents, EUR1s, Certificates of Origin, CHEDs, etc.
  • Engaging with HMRC, Port Health, and other relevant authorities as required
  • Ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance, and customer service

About you:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong administrative, numerical, and analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing workloads effectively
  • Previous experience in an operational customs environment
  • Knowledge of CHIEF, CDS, NCTS, NES, and other customs systems
  • Familiarity with HMRC import/export regulations and documentation
  • A-Level/Degree qualification or relevant industry certifications
  • Understanding of ETSF warehouse processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
