I am working with an award-winning international logistics provider who are seeking a new Customs Clearance Coordinator, located in their Ipswich office.
Salary - up to 28,000 DOE
Key duties & Responsibilities:
As a Customs Clearance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role within our Customs department, ensuring all documentation and procedures are handled efficiently and compliantly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations via CDS and CHIEF
- Signing customs documentation under Power of Attorney on behalf of clients
- Extracting and managing data from commercial invoices and packing lists
- Liaising with clients and internal departments to obtain and validate clearance information
- Classifying goods and applying relevant customs codes and licences
- Managing import/export documentation such as T-documents, EUR1s, Certificates of Origin, CHEDs, etc.
- Engaging with HMRC, Port Health, and other relevant authorities as required
- Ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance, and customer service
About you:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong administrative, numerical, and analytical capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team, managing workloads effectively
- Previous experience in an operational customs environment
- Knowledge of CHIEF, CDS, NCTS, NES, and other customs systems
- Familiarity with HMRC import/export regulations and documentation
- A-Level/Degree qualification or relevant industry certifications
- Understanding of ETSF warehouse processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
