Spider is advertising on behalf of a manufacturer of HVAC systems who are looking for a QA Technician to join their team in Ipswich, Suffolk on a part-time, permanent basis.

About the role:

As a QA Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting inspection activities, analysing production data, and driving enhancements in the manufacturing processes. In this role, you will be working 26.25 hours per week where your day shifts will ideally include working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30am – 4:45pm with half an hour for lunch although will consider flexibility on these for the right candidate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming supplier materials and in-process/final products, using established procedures and interpreting technical drawings to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in product audits and support PPAP activities for purchased, fabricated, and assembled components.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns, manage non-conforming material returns, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Investigate internal quality issues using structured problem-solving tools, and engage in cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to address root causes.
  • Monitor productivity metrics, prepare detailed quality performance reports using digital tools, and support quality improvement projects focused on PPM reduction and corrective action initiatives.

About you:

You should have atleast 1 year of quality assurance experiencein a manufacturing environment. You are familiar with dimensional inspection tools and have a tech-savvy mindset with strong IT skills to assist in digital reporting and data analysis. You are a proactive problem solver, and you demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a solid understanding of quality systems and methodologies.  You should have the ability to commute or reliably commute before starting work.
