Our client are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to help build not just homes, but futures for their residents and their team. Job Summary/Purpose

The successful candidate will efficiently oversee field operations, manage subcontractors' daily activities, and ensure material availability in collaboration with the Site Manager.

You will assist in planning and scheduling site activities, ensuring all work is conducted safely, and step in for the Site Manager as needed to uphold quality standards that meet customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

Organisation and Control of Labour and Subcontractors

  • Complete weekly planning sheets to ensure adherence to the overall build schedule.
  • Provide guidance to subcontractors to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure materials are available for the construction schedule.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections to confirm safe operations.
  • Ensure adherence to method statements and risk assessments from subcontractors or management.
  • Follow site-specific environmental action plan requirements.

Sales

  • Communicate daily regarding customer options and variations.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments and subcontractors for customer choice supply and installation.
  • Work with the sales team to resolve customer issues.

Site Inspection

  • Schedule and coordinate visits for stage inspections.
  • Arrange inspections with statutory services.
  • Accompany inspectors during their visits.

Customer Care

  • Assist with the Home Quality Inspection (HQI) before the sign-off.
  • Ensure the house is defect-free, clean, and ready for occupation at legal completion, addressing all identified items.
  • Support in post-completion visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections of each property throughout the build process and complete snagging lists.
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to issued drawings, specifications, and trade conditions.

Site Presentation

  • Support in applying operating framework rules regarding aesthetics.

Control of Work

  • Ensure adequate waste disposal skips are available.
  • Ensure contractors and labour separate waste according to company policy.

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • Trade background
  • NVQ Level 4 in Residential Construction Site Supervision
  • In-depth knowledge of the building process, including relevant regulations
  • First Aid qualified
  • CSCS card holder at Manager/Supervisor level
