Due to their on-going success, they are now recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, covering the UK, who is keen to progress their career.Â
JOB PURPOSE
As a Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be supporting our client by supporting the project design work for retail, commercial and industrial customers, within the building services Team.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
As a Building Services Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be supporting our client by assisting the design team in producing high quality complete design packages for a variety of clients.
Responsible for the design specification, and coordination of mechanical building services, including HVAC and Plumbing.
Maintain a strong awareness of best practice, regulatory requirements.
Plant selection and sizing in line with specifications/schedules
Pipework and ductwork sizing in line with latest regulations
Use thermal analysis software to calculate heat losses and heat gains
Attend meetings as part of a team and individually to ascertain clients’ requirements
Attend project / site meetings.
Carry out site surveys.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical building service design experience
HNC in Building Services related qualification
Excellent attitude and approach to work.
Highly self-reliant, motivated and enthusiastic.
Approachable, open and able to work as part of a team.
Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
IT proficient – all relevant Microsoft and other IT packages, AutoCAD,
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel across the UK and stay away from home for short periods to fulfil the requirements of this role.
Excellent administrative and organisational skills, along with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
A professional and pro-active approach to their work, always demonstrating initiative.
Hours of work…
- 37.5hrs per week. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
- Ipswich Head Office / Hybrid – typically 2 days in the office including a Tuesday
