This role forms part of a supportive and multidisciplinary Allied Health Professionals (AHP) team, providing crucial care to older adults with complex mental health needs.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver patient-centered occupational therapy interventions for older adults in an inpatient mental health setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and contribute to care planning and discharge processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including nursing, medical, psychology, and social care staff.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to enhance functional independence and quality of life.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and mental health care reviews.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.
Requirements:
  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with older adults.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and care planning skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures.
