Children’s Support Worker – Suffolk
Job Title: Support Worker – Residential Children’s Homes
Job Type: Temporary ad-hoc (permanent positions also available
Location: Ipswich and surrounding areas
Days and hours of work: Shift work across 7 days a week. Mix of early shifts, late shifts, long days and sleep in shifts
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly rate: £11.50 - £16.00 per hour (£9.50ph paid for sleep ins)
ARC are working in partnership with a small, but growing, organisation who look after and provide a safe home for children with additional needs. The young people within the homes may have Autism (ASD) and/or other learning or behavioural needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with or without experience, but for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Our client is looking for someone who is passionate about enhancing the lives of young people, able to keep them safe and teach them along the way.
The role:
- Support children with their day to day routines (school runs, appointments, weekend trips out)
- Maintain the safety of the children
- Document information accurately
- Safeguard the children and report any concerns
- Contribute to a therapeutic environment that meet the needs of the children
- Provide advice and guidance to the children
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the children (housework etc.)
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license and access to a car is essential to this role
- Aged 21+ is essential (due to the nature of the role and as per Ofsted guidelines the candidate must be 4 years older than the oldest child within the home)
- DBS – we can support you with this if you don’t already have one
- Right to work in the UK
