Site Agent - Civil Engineering

Location: Ipswich
I'm working with a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure, utilities and highways projects across the UK. They're looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to take ownership of project delivery ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The project is in Ipswich.

You'll manage both direct and subcontracted teams, oversee resources and budgets, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all on-site activities, ensuring safety, quality and productivity are maintained at all times

  • Overseeing budgets, resources and programmes to deliver projects successfully

  • Preparing and reviewing RAMS, work package plans and site documentation

  • Ensuring full compliance with CDM, environmental and quality standards

  • Promoting best practice in health, safety and wellbeing across site teams

  • Building and maintaining excellent client and stakeholder relationships

  • Driving value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Mentoring and developing site teams to achieve performance and competency standards

About you:

  • Proven experience managing civil engineering projects - ideally covering infrastructure, highways, utilities, earthworks or structures

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, CDM regulations and temporary works

  • Commercially aware, with experience managing cost, risk and programme performance

  • Strong leadership, communication and people management skills

  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Essential: SMSTS and IOSH certification

  • Desirable: Chartered status, NRSWA Supervisor or Temporary Works qualification

  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
