Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse, ensuring the effective movement and control of stock. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and supporting customer-facing operations. The Supervisor ensures compliance with health and safety policies, maintains accurate stock records, and liaises with internal departments to support smooth operations and sales efforts. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a hands-on approach to maintaining high standards of service, safety, and warehouse performance.
Warehouse Operations
Supervise warehouse operations ensuring safe and effective movement of stock
Maintain an overview of planned work and ensure that resources are effectively deployed
Provide excellent customer facing service to locate and load goods for direct sales customers and call offs for large project order customers
Carry out administration for stock control and inventory using company systems and processes
Support annual stock check and other scheduled checks
Supervision
Supervise all warehouse operatives, allocate tasks, monitor performance & manage staff issues
Induct new staff, providing clear training on all requirements of the job
Provide feedback on performance via regular dialogue with staff
Liaise with the Transport Co-ordinator, Counter sales, Warehouse operatives to ensure the smooth running of the Warehouse and to communicate changes to tasks and activities.
Share knowledge and expertise on products
Administer end of day security duties
Work additional hours to cover or provide flexibility when required
Contribute to resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
Health and Safety
Take responsibility for H&S in the warehouse environment, ensuring that all employees are aware of operating procedures, policies and practices
Daily supervision of cleaning/tidying of the warehouse
Promote the use of safe practices in all aspects of warehouse operations
Provide adequate and formal H&S communications to staff
Monitor hazard and near miss reporting
Check and ensure that PPE is used correctly
Sales support
Assess daily sales figure, providing detail to MD with Hardie Stock sheet
Process orders and enquiries via telephone and email
Match purchase orders daily
Work in collaboration with the Branch Manager and Sales Team for the overall success of the business

Salary :- £28k - £30k
Hours :- 730 - 430
