The Company Able Bridge Recruitment are currently working with a leading manufacturing business in Ayrshire in the recruitment of a finance manager.

The role reports into the managing director of the business and has been the result of an internal re-structuring. The role holder will manage a finance team who are responsible for the transactions going through the business.

The ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to oversee the day to day running of our clients accounting function. Whilst you will have oversight of the teams work, you will be expected to be a hands-on finance manager who is actively involved in accounting tasks. You will take responsibility for the overall P&L, payroll, financial operations and statutory obligations.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;Production and review of monthly management accounts for review by the directors.Critical analysis of profit and loss versus forecast with variances reported with commentary.Completion of financial accounts ensuring that all statutory obligations are met including VAT and statutory returns.Working with the widder business, produce budgets, forecasts and ensure that cashflow projections are accurate and maintained.Review of foreign currency and ensure that export ledger, treasury and client receipting is accurate.Responsibility for the monthly management of the company’s payroll ensuring that all relevant timelines and compliance is met.Overall management of the accounts team and oversight of the general ledgers.Build relationships with key stakeholders to drive commercial success for the business.

The RequirementsWe are ideally seeking a professionally qualified finance manager although our client would not preclude a candidate who is qualified by experience in a similar role. We would expect the successful applicant to have worked as a finance manager and have managed a team for at least 5 years and who is commercially savvy. Our client is based in the office 5 days a week so we are seeking applicants who are based in the local area (Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, North Dumfries & Galloway). We are looking for an individual who is a collaborator and who sees the finance team as a supporting function to the growth and success of the business. Excellent written and verbal communication are an essential competency of the role as is the ability to use IT tools such as the companies ERP system and Excel.
