Location: Isleworth (West London - TW7 6ER)

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-5:00pm / Fri 7:30am-12:30pm

About the Role:

Proactive Global is currently seeking a skilled Metal Shop Operative to join a leading manufacturer in the protective equipment industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team that specializes in the production of protective cases for a variety of sectors, including military, broadcast, medical, and industrial industries.

As a Metal Shop Operative, you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of a busy metal fabrication shop, including the assembly of metal components, using a variety of machines and tools to meet production specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery such as CNC machines, Extrusion Bender, and Insertion Machine (full training will be provided to the right candidate).
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Perform metal cutting, drilling, and shaping tasks with precision and safety.
  • Assemble fabricated metal parts using tools such as Rivet Guns, Hand Drills, and Pillar Drills.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure finished products meet the required specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Report faults or maintenance issues with machines or tools.
  • Safely handle materials and ensure they are processed efficiently.
  • Follow work instructions and meet production deadlines consistently.

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience working in a metal workshop or a similar environment.
  • Basic knowledge of metalworking tools and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring quality in all tasks.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices in a workshop environment.
