Role: Humanities Teacher (Secondary School)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Humanities subjects aligned with the national curriculum or school standards.

  • Create lesson plans that develop students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of human society, history, culture, and geography.

  • Assess, record, and report on students' progress through assignments, projects, exams, and class participation.

  • Differentiate instruction to cater to students of varying abilities and learning styles.

  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, inquiry, and open discussion.

  • Contribute to the development of Humanities curriculum materials and schemes of work.

  • Organize or assist with educational trips, museum visits, or historical site tours to enrich learning.

  • Collaborate with other teachers to create interdisciplinary projects linking humanities with arts, sciences, or languages.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/carers regarding student performance and behavior.

  • Stay up to date with developments in Humanities education, incorporating new ideas and technologies into lessons.

  • Take part in staff meetings, professional development, and wider school activities like open evenings or school plays.
