As the Head of Physics, you will lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and curriculum delivery across all key stages. You will mentor staff, track student progress, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive academic excellence and departmental improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Physics department with vision, energy, and expertise.
• Plan, deliver, and oversee engaging Physics lessons across KS3 to KS5.
• Support, mentor, and manage departmental staff to ensure high-quality teaching.
• Track student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and enthusiasm for science.
• Coordinate assessments, curriculum planning, and department development.
• Promote a culture of academic excellence and curiosity in the sciences.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physics or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Physics at the secondary level (KS3–KS5).
• Previous leadership or middle-management experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and team leadership skills.
• A passion for physics and a commitment to inspiring students of all abilities.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
