Junior Lab Mechanical Engineer Role

Full job description

As a lab engineer you will provide vital support to the lab and processing team. The role requires a strong focus on providing a professional, efficient service with a keen eye for detail. The candidate will need to communicate effectively within the lab processing team. The post holder may also be required to cover other members of the lab team from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Chemical mixing and topping up of replenishment tanks.
  • Chemical stock inventory check and letting the team know what chemicals are needed
  • Responsible for cleaning procedures on the processors and maintenance of the processors.
  • Top up of wash water tanks in the processors and checking each machine daily for any issues mechanically.
  • Following the maintenance schedule for the processors.
  • General housekeeping and maintenance within the lab and processor.

Skills & Experience

  • Educated to A-Level standard as a minimum (or equivalent).
  • Highly organised and professional at all times.
  • Dependable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Good level of numeracy.
  • Excellent multi-tasker, communicator with incredible attention to detail
  • Positive and pro-active manner
  • Mechanically minded and able
