Assistant Site Manager – Food Production

Shifts: Monday to Friday Days


An established, forward-thinking food manufacturing business is seeking a dynamic Assistant Site Manager to lead its production operations. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, people-focused leader to take end-to-end ownership of site performance within a values-driven organisation known for its quality, integrity and customer commitment.


The Role

This pivotal position will be responsible for the full production cycle—from raw material intake to final dispatch—ensuring operational efficiency, resource optimisation and consistent product quality. The Site Manager will lead cross-functional teams, proactively resolve challenges, and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance and exceed customer expectations.

This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, both in the office and on the production floor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all site production activities, ensuring all departments are resourced and prepared to meet daily and long-term objectives.

  • Monitor KPIs, non-conformances and customer feedback to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.

  • Act as the operational link between the workforce, customers, suppliers and stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring professional communication.

  • Drive efficiency through system development and performance tracking across yield, throughput, nitrogen usage and quality.

  • Support internal cultural development around food safety, compliance and productivity.

  • Deputise during external audits and ensure all regulatory standards are met or exceeded.

  • Conduct daily meetings with department leads to identify and resolve issues before they impact performance.

  • Demonstrable experience in food production or a related manufacturing environment.

  • Deep knowledge of production processes, product quality standards and compliance requirements.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and align cross-functional teams.
