The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant working through Academics, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.

  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive social interaction.
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
  • Help manage behaviour using supportive and consistent strategies.
  • Assist with personal care and wellbeing support where required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

About You
To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant position, you should have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in Education or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
