Job Title: HR Assistant

Location: Kendal

Main Purpose of the Role:

As a Human Resource Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for HR queries, providing essential support throughout the recruitment and onboarding processes. Your role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions while adhering to the highest standards of safeguarding and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment Support: Manage the recruitment and selection process, including drafting job descriptions, coordinating vacancies, and liaising with candidates throughout their application journey.
  • Safer Recruitment practises: Ensure compliance with safer recruitment protocols in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
  • Pre-employment Checks: Conduct all necessary pre-employment checks, including references, medical fitness assessments, online checks, DBS applications, and overseas checks.
  • Central Register Management: Assist the HR Team in maintaining an up-to-date Single Central Register of checks.
  • Project Assistance: Support the HR Team with various project work as needed.
  • Documentation Management: Assist with the preparation of correspondence related to the employee lifecycle and document meeting minutes for departmental records.
  • HR Query Management: Oversee the HR queries inbox, addressing general inquiries or directing them as necessary.
  • Database Maintenance: Ensure the HR database is consistently updated with accurate employee information.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with HR processes and procedures is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using HR databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
