Overhead Crane Engineer – Lake District

Salary: Up to £45,000 basic (plus overtime & benefits)

Location: Lake District & surrounding areas

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Engineer to join a respected lifting equipment service provider. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most scenic regions in the UK while supporting a wide range of customers with the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of overhead cranes and lifting systems.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all lifting equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards, while delivering a professional and customer-focused service across the Lake District area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintenance, and repair of overhead cranes and associated lifting equipment
  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Conduct safety inspections and LOLER examinations
  • Installation and commissioning of new overhead crane systems
  • Complete accurate service reports and compliance documentation
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to customers on-site

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Engineer, Lifting Equipment Engineer, or similar role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of control systems, motors, gearboxes, and lifting gear
  • LEEA qualifications or equivalent (advantageous but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service focus
