Production Leader - | Kendal | £40,000 + Bonus

MRD Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading business services provider to recruit a Production Leader. This is a permanent, site-based role located in Kendal, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and people-focused leader to join a forward-thinking organisation at the heart of the hospitality and business sector. The role is ideal for someone passionate about leading teams, driving performance, and delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily production operations, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery to hospitality clients.
  • Drive a lean culture, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and service levels.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and wider leadership team to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage and engage production teams, focusing on coaching, development, and performance improvement.
  • Oversee compliance with Health & Safety, hygiene standards, and ISO procedures.
  • Monitor and improve key KPIs, including On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery and quality metrics.
  • Support resource planning to meet seasonal peaks and urgent customer demands.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in production, operations, or hospitality services.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Comfortable working with KPIs, performance metrics, and operational targets.
  • Excellent communicator and decision-maker with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks is highly desirable.
  • IOSH qualification would be beneficial but not essential.
