Position: Senior Engineer

Location: Coventry

Hours: 07:30-17:30

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £70,000 + £5,000 car allowance

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Engineer / Sub Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing critical elements of the project and leading a small team of engineers.

Your duties will include:

  • Site Leadership: Lead and guide a team of site engineers, ensuring project delivery aligns with drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
  • Project Experience: Bring your expertise in heavy reinforced concrete structures and earthworks.
  • Project Execution: Support and manage all on-site activities, ensuring that the construction is delivered within scope, time, and budget.
  • Problem Solving: Oversee and provide solutions for engineering challenges that may arise during the project.
  • Preparation Work: Take ownership of project document preparation and ensure smooth on-site execution.
  • Support for Agent: Step in to cover for the Agent where required, taking on additional responsibilities such as order control and construction programme.
  • Preparation of short term programmes

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in major civil engineering and reinforced concrete projects
  • Ability to manage and lead site engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Competency in managing site operations and working closely with the site team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple project stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related field. Experience working on large-scale civil engineering and reinforced concrete projects. Relevant professional memberships (ICE, IEng, etc.) are desirable but not essential.

Potential additionalQualifications: SSSTS or SMSTS, First Aider, Utilities Appointed Person, Temporary Works supervisor / coordinator, Lifting Appointed Person

Ideal Knowledge & Attitude: Previous experience reinforced concrete structures. Experience working in Tier 1 environment with attention to health, safety, environment and quality. Proficient in use of AutoCAD software, Cloud based systems, Office 365
