This is your opportunity to take full ownership of financial operations in a dynamic environment, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and delivering valuable insights to support sustainable business growth.About the Role As the Financial Controller, you will report to the Group Finance Director and play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of financial management. You'll lead a dedicated finance team and collaborate across departments to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles.
  • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow, optimise receivables and oversee outgoing payments.
  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, VAT, Tax, and other HMRC requirements.
  • Coordinate payroll processes with HR and external partners.
  • Manage creditor payments, banking, insurance, and lease arrangements.
  • Oversee standard costing and analyse manufacturing variances.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights to guide strategic decisions, including:
    • Weekly sales forecasts
    • Business case evaluations
    • Stock control and optimisation
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
  • Lead the external audit process and manage auditor relationships.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing local finance team.
  • Act as the Finance Key User for the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
  • Partner with department heads to identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
