About the Company Our client is a well-established manufacturing company based in Desborough, dedicated to producing high-quality products for a range of industries. With continued investment in people, processes, and technology, they are seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in driving quality and continuous improvement across the business.

Role Overview As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet internal and external quality standards. You will support manufacturing teams, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain and enhance product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Lead investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

  • Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001 or equivalent).

  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, and FMEAs.

  • Collaborate with design, production, and supplier teams to improve product quality and reduce defects.

  • Use quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and SPC to analyse data and drive improvement.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (automotive, aerospace, or similar preferred).

  • Strong understanding of quality systems and tools (e.g. ISO 9001, FMEA, PPAP, APQP).

  • Hands-on problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across departments.

  • HNC/HND or degree in Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
