Reed Further Education are working with a further education provider are looking for a passionate temporary catering assistant/ cook to join our dynamic team in Kettering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to providing excellent food and customer service.
Job Title: Catering Assistant/Cook
Working Hours: 35 hours, Mon-Fri
Role type: Temporary Ongoing until 27th June.
Location: Kettering
Salary: £13.68p/h to £14.50p/h including holiday pay
Day-to-day of the role:
- Food Preparation:Â Assist in preparing vegetables, salads, sandwiches, sauces, and more.
- Cooking Support:Â Help the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor with cooking tasks using various kitchen equipment.
- Service Counter:Â Set up, serve food, and clean the service counter.
- Customer Service:Â Serve meals and beverages courteously to clients, staff, and visitors.
- Special Functions:Â Provide assistance with special function catering.
- Cleaning Duties:Â Wash crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment; clean floors, walls, and dining areas.
- Stock Management:Â Assist in stock taking, storage, and checking deliveries.
- Health & Safety:Â Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and HACCP.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential Qualifications:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience in customer care.
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Allergen training.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- First Aid at work certificate.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- High standards of kitchen cleanliness.
- Experience in food preparation.
