We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leisure and Events Manager to lead the operations of a high-energy health/fitness club sports complex. This role is perfect for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for business growth, fitness, sports, and large-scale event management.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of all sports and health club facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
    • Manage scheduling, maintenance, and staffing for all sports courts, health club amenities, and the gym.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the centre's budget, controlling expenses and maximizing revenue.
    • Implement strategies to increase membership sales, court bookings, and event hosting opportunities.
    • Monitor financial performance, analyse reports, and make data-driven decisions to enhance profitability.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff across various departments.
    • Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure high levels of competence and job satisfaction.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service and addressing any issues or complaints promptly.
    • Develop and implement customer engagement programs, such as fitness classes, coaching sessions, and member events, to enhance the customer experience.
  • Marketing and Business Development:
    • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the sports centre and health club, attract new members, and increase event bookings.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local sports clubs, schools, and corporate clients to drive business growth.
  • Facility Management:
    • Ensure all facilities, including courts, gym equipment, pool, and wellness areas, are well-maintained and fully operational.
    • Oversee the regular maintenance and cleaning schedules, and liaise with the maintenance department to manage any repairs or upgrades as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a management role within sales, sports, fitness, or hospitality industry.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of sports centre operations, event management, and health club facilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in using management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
