Salary: Up to £24,500.00
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Footwear Technician to work in their Footwear Testing department based in Kettering.

Responsibilities

As a Footwear Technician, in the physical testing laboratory, you will be required to carry out the following:

  • Operate standard laboratory equipment in line with Health and Safety assessments and test methods to conduct routine physical testing of footwear, their materials and components.
  • Take responsibility for certain aspects of the laboratory and stores maintenance and upkeep.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Prepare samples and conduct testing work to agreed deadlines
  • UKAS requirements, including personal training records

About You

  • Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (NVQ L3) and be familiar with MS Word and Excel.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work to deadlines, to produce accurate, detailed results and to be able to work independently and as part of the laboratory team.
  • You must be able to demonstrate good organisation, time management, meticulous attention to detail and planning skills.
  • Previous physical test laboratory experience would be an advantage, as would knowledge of footwear construction and materials, however full training will be given.
  • Flexibility, tenacity and a ‘can-do attitude' are key requisites of the role.
  • Knowledge of footwear construction and materials would be desirable, along with experience of working in a test laboratory environment.
