Furniture TechnicianKetteringHours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrsSalary - up to £26kOur established client based in Kettering is seeking a hands-on and detail-focusedFurniture Technician to join their internationally recognised Furniture Department — a hub for testing, consultancy, and innovation. This is your chance to be part of a technical team that supports global manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of furniture products used around the world.What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Preparing and conditioning furniture products for testing
  • Conducting physical testing of mattresses, cabinets, tables, and seating to UK, European, and international standards
  • Collaborating with team members to move and set up furniture samples
  • Working closely with customers to plan testing schedules and build strong relationships
  • Maintaining lab cleanliness and detailed training records
  • Hosting customer visits and supporting inspections on-site
What You’ll Need to Succeed:Essential:
  • GCSEs in Maths, English & Science (minimum Grade C / 5)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
  • Experience in furniture or consumer product testing
  • Mechanical engineering qualifications
  • Previous experience in the furniture industry
