Job role: Mechanical Fitter/Assembler
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (£16-£18ph) + Overtime @ 1.33x on week days and 1.5x on Saturday
Hours: 07:30-16:15 Monday to Thursday, 12:00 finish Fridays

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well established precision engineering company based in Kettering on their search for an experienced and skilled mechanical fitter to join their team. Our client has been established for well over 60 years, sub-contracting the production of components for an array of industries and they are now looking to add to the team on the shop floor.
The package:
- Hourly rate between £16-£18 per hour dependent on experience
- Overtime available
- 33 days including bank holidays

The role:
- Perform mechanical assembly and fitting of precision engineered components according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure that components meet the required standards and specifications.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to perform assembly tasks accurately.
- Continuously improve assembly processes by providing feedback and suggestions for optimisation.
- Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and precision.
The Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Operative, or similar role in a precision engineering environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques, including reading engineering drawings and using various hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision-engineered components.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and the ability to perform inspections and measurements.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to mechanical assembly work.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
