The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This rewarding role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, safety regulations, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be committed to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Report all health, safety and environmental concerns, near misses and incidents via the site reporting system.
  2. Comply with the site Safe System of Work; develop competence under the Safety Rules.
  3. To ensure that all electrical apparatus is correctly operated and maintained.
  4. Assist the Engineer to ensure plant apparatus, tools and equipment are calibrated to known standard
  5. To assist the Engineer with planning, preparing and executing method statements and risk assessments via the sites CMMS system.
  6. Assist the Engineer in maintaining all plant related computing and communications
  7. To assist the Engineer with planning, resourcing and supervising shut-down maintenance.
  8. To investigate Electrical faults on any part of the plant or apparatus in a timely manner.
  9. To ensure the availability & timely rectification of out of hours breakdowns / emergency repair service.
  10. Assist Engineer with arranging maintenance contracts for specialist apparatus or equipment.
  11. Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work area
  13. Collaborate effectively with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and contractors.
  14. To support with ensuring spares are stored and tested as per OEM instructions and recommend plant system spares holdings to the Engineer / Maintenance Manager.
  15. Learn other departments responsibilities and support the wider maintenance department and site teams as situations dictate or as requested.

Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified electrical technician with current and demonstrable experience of Electrical systems in power or process industries.
  • Broad experience of process electrical systems.
  • Knowledge with High Voltage equipment is desirable.

Ability / Experience

  • Ideally from a power station, process plant or similar background.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of managing multiple contractors and maintenance contracts
  • Self-discipline/ability to work independently
