Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council for a Mechanic on a temporary on-going basis.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must hold a current Full Driving Licence
  • Hold a Class C vocational licence.
  • Experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic/ recognised qualification

Job Requirements:

  • To assist in the maintenance and service the Authority's vehicles and plant as scheduled.
  • To undertake Safety and Service inspections in line with Department of Transport requirements
  • To prepare and take vehicles for M.O.T.'s and 'Plating' examinations asrequired.
  • To undertake repairs to vehicles and others of the Authority's fleet, both in the Authority's Workshop or on the Highway as necessary.
  • To undertake repairs, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic problems.
  • To keep the work area tidy and safe.
  • To work with colleagues in providing an efficient and effective service to all Sections of the Authority.
  • To handle equipment, tools, chemicals and materials in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and C.O.S.H.H. Regulations.
  • To be aware of Health & Safety/Risk Assessments documents for the Garage and to work in accordance with the Safe Working Practices.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by the Director of CommunityWell-being and Environment.
