About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join a dynamic Finance team. In this pivotal role, you will co-ordinate financial performance across the organisation, providing strategic and operational financial analysis. You will also act as the deputy to the Head of Financial Management when needed. Your expertise will guide key decision-making processes and support our mission to enhance public service efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Financial Management team alongside other Senior Management Accountants.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to produce timely and accurate annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance and investigate variances from budget, providing actionable insights.
  • Manage the team's business support functions, including risk management and progress reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity in Oracle and support audit activities as required.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Part Qualified and actively studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • Proven experience in an accountancy environment, preferably within the public sector.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Enterprise Resource systems.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, results-oriented individual who thrives under pressure and meets deadlines.
  • Experience in managing small teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
