*UK work eligibility required A client of mine is currently on the lookout for a Laboratory Technician to contribute to their mission of "innovation saving lives."

Company Overview: The company is a global biotech company advancing personalised healthcare by developing and commercialising precision medicine tests for life-changing diseases. Their aim is the transformation of scientific advances into a commercialised platform technology, and a new generation of biomarkers for cancer and other diseases. Their operations have since expanded to their state-of-the-art laboratories in Oxford.

Role Overview: As a Laboratory Technician, you will be required to work alongside project managers. The role will involve planning and carrying out laboratory work and reporting results in a timely manner. You will be responsible for production of DNA library preparation and then screening these libraries using various molecular procedures. Experience in automated processes (particularly Tecan robots) is especially desirable, and experience in Microarray and qPCR (particularly probe-based chemistry) would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: - Independently perform laboratory protocols according to work instructions and SOPs

- Take part in the preparation, review and updating of laboratory documentation within the Quality Management System.

- Troubleshoot and problem solve technical and equipment issues and oversee the maintenance of reagent and materials inventory (supply and adequacy).

- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and validated. Read and follow all company guidelines, policies, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

- Abide by all safety requirements as defined by the company, including proper use of personal protective equipment for working with human and other biological materials, and chemicals.

- Contribute to laboratory cleaning and equipment maintenance duties and pro-cess associated documentation to the eQMS/TFAR.

- Working as part of a team on Laboratory Projects performing: - 3C DNA preparation and quantification

- qPCR and nPCR

- Manufacturing of Reagents

Qualifications and Experience:

- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant subject (with wet lab experience) or equivalent industrial experience - Lab experience in a commercial, industrial or hospital setting (GMP or ISO compliant laboratory) is advantageous

Skills: - Experienced Laboratory team member - Effective time management skills - Experience in programming and validation of automated processes (particularly Tecan robots) and proficiency in Microarray processing and analysis is especially desirable.
