We're seeking a Deputy Manager to join our team at a respected 28-bed residential care home in Oxford. This is an ideal opportunity for a local candidate looking to step into a hands-on leadership role in a high-quality, person-centred care environment.
About the Home
This well-established, privately owned care home offers:
- Residential and dementia care (mild to advanced stages)
- Palliative and end-of-life care
- Convalescent and respite support
- Specialist support for Parkinson's disease and stroke recovery
Recently refurbished, the home provides a safe, supportive environment for up to 28 older adults (aged 65+), with a strong reputation for high standards of care.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Home Manager with day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance
- Spending approximately 75% of your time supporting and overseeing care on the floor
- Leading and developing care teams to ensure safe, effective, person-centred support
- Assisting with rotas, training, supervisions, and appraisals
- Managing care plans and safeguarding protocols
- Liaising with professionals, families, and the wider community
- Promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and excellence in care
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 minimum in Health & Social Care (Level 4 or 5 preferred)
- Previous care home leadership experience essential (e.g. Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy Manager)
- Strong understanding of dementia and elderly care
- Confident communicator and skilled team manager
- Must be based locally in Oxford or surrounding areas (this is not a commuting role)
