About the role:
Are you a proactive leader who thrives on solving challenges and keeping operations running smoothly? As our workshop manager, you'll be the driving force behind our coach building team - ensuring every vehicle interior conversion meets the highest standards, is delivered on time and stays within budget. You'll lead a skilled team of fitters and manage workflow efficiently. Your ability to anticipate issues and find smart solutions will be key to maintaining productivity and quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise workshop staff, providing leadership and support across a variety of complex activities
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
- Oversee stock control, procurement of materials and quality control
- Diagnose issues and provide technical support where needed
- Coordinate workshop jobs to ensure maximum efficiency and timely delivery
- Ensure all health and safety regulations and procedures are complied with.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records, reports and paperwork
- Carry out performance reviews and support staff development
- Create a constructive working environment by leading with a positive attitude
About you:
Experience and qualities:
- Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or management role
- Outstanding and inspirational leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in IT and administrative tasks
- Strong technical understanding of fitting out and conversion in the automotive, yacht building, horsebox or similar industry (preferred but not essential)
- Relevant certifications/trade qualifications (preferred but not essential)
