Senior Air Quality Consultant - Manchester

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected environmental consultancy in the search for a Senior Air Quality Consultant to join their growing Manchester team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development of one of the UK's most successful independent environmental consultancies in the UK.

The Role
You'll manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of projects, from single-source dispersion studies to complex, multi-source industrial and transport emission appraisals. Responsibilities include undertaking and overseeing air quality, odour and greenhouse gas assessments, managing client relationships, ensuring quality assurance, and contributing to business growth.

This is a hands-on technical and managerial role offering significant responsibility and autonomy. You'll provide project leadership, mentor junior staff, and contribute to developing new business opportunities across the UK.

About You

  • Ideally 4+ years' UK consultancy experience in air quality or related disciplines.

  • Skilled in dispersion modelling (e.g. ADMS) for road and point sources.

  • Strong understanding of methodologies for assessing road traffic, industrial, odour and dust emissions.

  • Excellent written, numerical and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects from proposal to completion.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (IAQM/IEMA) preferred.

  • Full UK driving licence required.

We're looking for someone ambitious, commercially aware, and technically proficient - someone eager to take ownership of their work and contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of the business.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus scheme.

  • Flexible working arrangements and supportive, collaborative culture.

  • Fully funded social events, cycle-to-work scheme, and sabbatical opportunities.

  • Rapid career progression with genuine input into company strategy and growth.

  • Opportunity to develop specialist expertise and lead on technical areas of interest.

This role is ideal for an experienced consultant seeking greater responsibility, career progression and the chance to make a real impact within a thriving, forward-thinking consultancy.
