Rubicon Consultingis currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis based in the North West.

Role Summary

Forming a part of the Commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit. This role would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step in their career or a established Quantity Surveyor looking for job security and longevity.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will include:

Input into the application and credit control processes

Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations

Understanding of the change control system

Understanding of project risk

Understanding of the production of CVRs

Understanding of CTC

Understanding the production of forecasting data

Understanding the costing process

Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation

Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.

Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements

Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.

Attend project progress meetings.

Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Power, Utilities, Energy, or Major Infrastructure.

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Solid understanding of Defined Cost, Schedule of Cost Components, and target cost mechanisms

Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities effectively

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar

MRICS or working towards chartership (desirable)
